Being sick sucks.
In other news, I'm starting to think of specific goals to start improving my artwork. Looking back over my gallery, I'm excited to see that, at least in my opinion, I do see improvement -- it's not as much as I'd like, but then again, I always hold ridiculously high expectations of myself.
But, looking over what I've done lately, things that definitely seem to change the quality of a piece are the color variations, shading/lighting, background usage, posing, and character. That's... a lot. And I'm probably missing a couple of things, too.
What I'd like to focus on mostly over the next couple months is the following:
- Backgrounds
- Lighting
- Poses
- PeopleBackgrounds: This will suck. Because I suck at backgrounds.
Lighting: Shading is one thing, but shading the right direction, ambient light reflections the right direction, and color... AAAAH.
Poses: I, unfortunately, am not very good at anatomy, so unfortunately if I come up with poses on my own, they turn out a bit (okay, a lot) wonky -- this goes for both people and dragons.
People: I really suck at eyes. And lips. And hands. And... okay. Just people in general! XD
If you have any advice, tips, opinions, things you DON'T want me to change, please comment. I need moral support, and maybe some constructive help. Try to be nice, though. I'm sensitive. -_-
I WILL be opening for requests, soon. I likely will take a few over deviantART, a few from both PernMu*'s I play, and then a few from the People I Like So Much That They're Going to be Forced to Give Me Something To Draw. ~

I'm good at moral support, though!
You're awesome!
[link] is also a great site.

Though, you don't always have to be an artist to notice things that could be better.
And, I like that pose site. Kinda funky, but it could definitely be useful. Thanks!

I'm in a weird mood.
But if you'd rather a dragon or summat' lemme know. Heck, if you want to try any horses or horselike creatures, I have them too, hehe.
Ooh! You should ask Miirs/Rea for one or her alt's whers to try!
One thing I plan to try with digital backgrounds (after doing Xaventh digitally) is using custom grass and tree and texture brushes to help with the scale and overlap of things. I always have trouble with the middle ground in everything I do and usually that's in the draing itty bitty trees over and over or scaling them up or down as the scene comes closer. I'll give it a shot and let you know if it helps any. I'm hoping it does, lol.

Trying some whers is a good idea! Kinda a daunting prospect, but hey. Ya never know. It could be fun. XD
I've been looking for brushes via the web for some things that are more background-friendly than what comes with photoshop, but coming up with some of your own is a good idea! I know I'd love to steal 'em if you ever posted them on dA. Those kind of things are really useful.
And, <3 at weird moods! Cha ching! I'm in a better mood now that I can ACTUALLY connect to PernWorld, for some reason my net wouldn't let me connect to it, and I was confused for a few days why it was doing that. A friend suggested changing to the IP address instead, which made it work, but now I keep getting dragged away for RL stuff. XD Figures!
